EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees recently recognized all 41 of the district’s schools for achieving a Met Standard accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency for the sixth consecutive year.
The district is also one of 58 districts to earn a postsecondary readiness distinction out of more than 1,200 school districts and charters in the state. It is also the only school district among those with 30,000 plus students to receive this recognition in the state.
In addition to the Met Standard rating, 12 schools also earned all possible distinction designations in 2017 accountability ratings. This is the second consecutive year that ECISD has more schools with distinctions than any other school district in South Texas.
Edinburg CISD schools that earned all possible distinctions applicable to that school in 2017, include Austin Elementary School, Betts Elementary School, Canterbury Elementary School, De La Vina Elementary School, Escandon Elementary School, Flores-Zapata Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, Magee Elementary School, Ramirez Elementary School, San Carlos Elementary School, Trevino Elementary School and Truman Elementary School.
