Pastor Charged With Sexual Assault, Police Urge Victims To Come Forward

Edinburg, TX - Edinburg Police suspect more victims exist after a local pastor is charged with ggravated sexual assault and practicing medicine without a license. Assistant Chief Orlando Garcia tells News Center 23's Derick Garcia, "other victims may be out there" Edinburg police have taken this case because the victim claims Mission pastor, Melquisedec Chan injected her with an unknown substance and was rendered unconscious. According to Edinburg Police, "The victim reported knowing Melquisedec Chan as a pastor at a church she attended in Mission, Texas who was also believed to practice medicine in Mexico." Edinburg Police determined, Chan did not have a medical license and executed a search warrant.  Investigators did recover presumed medical items, "we have some items being tested" said Asst. Chief Garcia, which could determine what the unknown substance, the victim was allegedly injected with. 

Asst. Chief Garcia said in a statement, "Edinburg Police Investigators believe this may not have been the first time Melquisedec Chan has committed this type of crime and are urging any other people who may have been victimized by Melquisedec Chan to file a report with their local police department. "
