HARLINGEN, Texas - The City of Harlingen honored one of its most influential residents on February 10.
The city dedicated one of its trails to late architect and marathoner Meg Jorn.
The Meg Jorn trail is located at the corner of 25th Street and Harrison Avenue. City officials said Jorn was always involved with the city and its projects and decided to name the trail in her honor. Family members of Jorn said naming the trail after her was fitting.
Bill Jorn, husband, "Meg loved getting outdoors, being healthy, and bettering the community structurally and with beauty. For there to have a trail that encompasses both of those qualities, and it to be honored with her name is just overwhelming to all of us."
Over 200 people participated in the 5K run honoring Meg Jorn. She was one of the founders of a prominent architecture company in the valley called Megamorphosis. Meg's husband Bill Jorn is the General Manager of KVEO News Center 23.
