County Commission Stands Against Separation Of Families

EDINBURG, Texas - Hidalgo County Commissioners standing against the separation of immigrant families.

The court signed a resolution to show their disapproval of the Trump Administration's zero tolerance policy.
Immigration advocates say while the resolution is only symbolic it is a step in the right direction.

Martha Sanchez, L.U.P.E  "I think that this is a very hard issue for our families here because they can see themselves being separated from their families. Especially because some of the families that were there also don't have documents and can see themselves, and can't even imagine the ordeal of being separated from their families."

The separation policy has resulted in nearly 1,500 children who can't be accounted for by the federal government.
