"Armed and Dangerous" Gang Member Wanted In Robbery & Assault Case

Edinburg, TX - Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office released shocking video, Tuesday in hopes to catch a known gang member linked to an assault/robbery case. "Sheriff’s Investigators are asking for the public’s help to locate Joe Wally Valdez and identify the second suspect in this Aggravated Robbery." stated in a media release. Valdez and an unidentified suspect are accused of "pistol whipping" a man while they attempted to steal money and drugs from a home off Sharp Road in rural Edinburg. According to the media release "Sheriff’s Investigators reviewed all of the evidence including surveillance video and witness statements, which showed probable to show that Joe Wally Valdez committed the offense of Aggravated Robbery, and have issued a warrant for his arrest."

The release also states, "Valdez and an  unidentified male fled location in a light colored SUV with an undetermined amount of money and a cell phone belonging to the victim. The victim was treated at a local    hospital for non-life threatening injuries he sustained as a direct result of the assault, and has since been released."

Valdez is a known gang member and considered armed and dangerous, according to Hidalgo County Sheriff's investigators.
