Local Fans React Following Jenni Rivera's Death

MCALLEN - It was a somber scene Monday at a local music store in McAllen, as store employees and fans remember banda and norteño singer Jenni Rivera.
Rivera along with six other passengers had boarded on a private plane headed to Central Mexico, she had just performed in front of thousands of fans in Monterey, Mexico. However, just 60-miles after takeoff her jet crashed, killing everyone onboard.
On Monday at Meme's Music store in McAllen the store played Rivera's songs all day in rememberance of the Latin super star. Hermes Music CEO Alberto Kreimerman had the opportunity to work with Rivera and say's she was a woman with a huge heart.
In 2010 Rivera attended a huge christmas posada fiesta here in the Rio Grande Valley, local fans had a chance to enjoy her music performance.
Rivera was known as "La Diva de La Banda", meaning the Diva of Band Music. Her music reached out to both fans in Mexico and here in the U.S. She was also known for continuosly making headlines because of her many dramatic phases in life.
Besides singing, Rivera had a reality show, was a business woman, and was nominated for several Latin Grammys.
