A produce company in the Valley recalled over 100 crates of fresh cilantro because the vegetable could be contaminated with salmonella.
Most of the fresh cilantro from Sweet Superior Fruit Company are now dumped outside as the company has thrown most of it away after they suspected that the cilantro could have been contaminated with salmonella. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalled 104 crates of cilantro which were sold between July 13th and 16th in 15 pound black plastic crates. The crates may have been resold to other retailers in the Valley, but many locals didn't even know about the recall.
