Twenty year old Isaac Torres is a few fights away from joining team usa in the 2012 Olympics.
Before he gets on the road tomorrow he had one last stop to make in Mission.

Isaac Torres is on his way to the Olympics trials in Mobile, Alabama. It's a dream come true for this upper valley native.. but its not all he hopes to be.

"I actually look up to the kids too," he says. "They also show me a lot too. Just changing one kid's life make a difference in my life."

Isaac has influenced many kids. They say they have learned a lot from his success. The Boys and Girls club in Mission is extremely proud of their hometown hero. A check was presented to Isaac and his family earlier today. Itls a big way of showing the city of Mission supports those who make a difference.

"it's good that we have people in the community especially like Isaac that come and mentor our kids and work with them," says J.C. Avila, Director of the Boys & Girls Club in Mission. "They look up to him especially his goals he has right now making the olympic trials. It's a great aspiration and a great thing for the kids here in our community."

Issac hopes to come back to the valley as the number one fighter in the country for the 123 lb. weight class.
He hopes his journey will continue to inspire the youth of the valley.

"Don't let anyone tell you, you can't do it. If your dreams are to shoot for the stars, then shoot for the stars, " he says. "That's what my dream was and I shot for the stars and that's where I'm at right now. I kept my dedication and desire into my sport and that's where I'm at right now."

Isaac will join 8 of the nation's top fighters to compete for the top spot. If he wins the series of fights this weekend he will be the first Olympic fighter from the valley.
