Less than 5% voted in Brownsville elections
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Less than 5% of registered voters cast their ballot this past Saturday in the Brownsville elections.
The two incumbents running for city council, John Villareal in District 4 and Rose Gowen for the Commissioner at Large B position held on to their seats.
District 4 is still undecided right now and none of the four candidates took more than 50% to clench the position.
Deborah Portillo will be in a run-off race with either Martin Sarkis or Rosalio "Leo" Rosales.
Official canvas of the votes is expected next week.
