Tears ran down the faces of Armando Gutierrez's family as the preceding judge told Gutierrez the jury had found him not guilty on 11 counts of molestation.
After five days of an intense trial where 11 children testified against Gutierrez. The 35 year-old former computer teaching assistant at Clinton Elementary was arrested back in February and charged with 13 counts of molestation. At Thursday court proceedings, two of those charges were dropped and on Friday he was acquitted on the remaining 11 charges.
His defense attnorney said their was a lot of strong allegations against Gutierrez, but believes their was not enough evidence to merit the charges. Gutierrez rushed out of the courtroom and did not want to go on camera, but his attorney says he was emotional and happy to be back with his family.
His attorney mentioned they plan to file an expunction on Monday morning to clear his record completely.
