The community of La Joya said their goodbyes to Police Chief Jose Del Angel on Monday.

He was buried at Benavides Cemetery in Sullivan City on Monday morning. Del Angel, who was with the La Joya Police Department for 17 years, shot  himself in the chest last Thursday on his property off Kika De La Garza Boulevard. Sheriff investigators say there was no other party involved in his death and no motive on what may have caused him to take his life.
