La Joya Police Chase

A wild police chase in La Joya is the third one this week in the Valley and leads police to thousands of dollars in narcotics

More than 1,000 pounds of marijuana found after a chase. The suspect even ran over a pedestrian and crashed into a building.

La Joya police say the chase starts around 9:30 Thursday. This white van was heading eastbound at a high rate of speed. The van veers off to the right into a shopping complex. The driver runs the van into a building. At that the time a business manager was locking up and was hit by the van.

The victim's family rushed to the victim. Paramedics then treated him and put him on a stretcher the hospital.

As the for the buildings damage a giant hole was left where the van struck.

Inside the suspects van police found more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana they say was heading north.

The white van was taken back to the the La Joya police station and will be used as evidence.
