LA JOYA - The La Joya I.S.D. came together to promote awareness for the cause as several faculty members and staff were educated about the disease.

The seminar included information about symptoms and prevention of breast cancer by educating it's employees. La Joya Superintendent Aida Benavides stated, "I think it's important but probably more in our area because we don't take the time we need for preventative care as we should so, I think the fact that we need to be more aware that preventative care is important."

The district lost two employees of it's own to the disease and in remembrance students and faculty will wear pink every Thursday throughout the month.
