Kids get special flight to North Pole
Houston, TX — In Houston, a group of kids got a special visit to the North Pole. It was a treat planned just for them by United Airlines, Phillip Mena has the details on this unforgettable trip.
Dozens of very special kids boarded a very special flight on Saturday, "Welcome to United 1761, nonstop service to the North Pole. Welcome aboard."
United Airlines invited 68 children being treated at area hospital and their families, to experience a Holiday trip any kid would envy.
Stephanie Buchanan, United Airlines Spokesperson, "They just enjoyed the day and it gives them a few hours to forget about their problems, and forget about their illnesses and just have a great time."
They took off from Bush Intercontinental Airport and after a magical twenty minute flight they landed at the North Pole hardly believing the sight.
Snow White and Cinderella greeted them at the gate along with all the wonder of Christmas and they didn't have to wait.
"Early Christmas gifts! YAY!"
While some kids met with Santa and his elves, others admired drawings of themselves.
"Got every last detail right."
From footballs signed by the Texans to baskets full of treats, these special children got gifts that couldn't be beat
