A 14 year-old boy will spend 40 years behind bars for the murder of a Harlingen woman.

The longest sentence a judge could give the juvenile when the juvenile pleaded guilty to murder in March for the February death of Rose Marie Gonzalez. Harlingen police found her stuffed in a refrigerator on February 9th of this year and officers say the teen and three others beat, tortured, and sexually assaulted Gonzalez before killing her.

Because he is a minor the juvenile cannot be identified and he will be sent to the Texas Youth Commission. According to the determinate sentence of 1987, the teen can later be transferred to a state prison to finish his prison term.
