Just in case: Preparing for 'Don'
Sergio Martinez is stocking up on supplies. He's getting ready for Tropical Storm Don that's rapidly approaching the coast.
"Well I've got a couple of plastic bags, some tie straps, and some duck tape," Martinez said.
Born and raised in Brownsville, he's seen a lot of storms.
Many of them - nothing to worry about…
But he says it's better safe than sorry when you're trying to protect your home.
"I actually live in a region where it floods a little bit, so everytime it rains a lot, I always kind of try to be as prepared as possible," Martinez said.
David Fuentes with Home Depot says on Friday afternoon, he's already seeing people stocking up on plywood for their windows, sandbags, and weather stripping.
"Definitely, I would encourage people to go ahead and start stacking up on stuff they might be needing. That way at the last minute, at least they know they'll have it," Fuentes said.
Those like Martinez who have plenty of tropical weather experience agree.
"I think to air on the side of caution is a wise move, so be as careful as possible you know," Martinez said.
