HARLINGEN - Harlingen city commissioner Kori Marra is facing a year in jail after a jury found her guilty of failing to abstain and signing a document saying she had a conflict of interest.

Prosecutors say that Marra was involved in a discussion about a downtown development district project during a meeting more than a year ago. The problem is that she owns a building located in downtown and that she should have signed a conflict of interest affidavit and not taken part in the discussion.
