Judge Survives Grudge
Knife-wielding man attacks judge who oversaw domestic violence case six years ago.
A Kentucky judge is alive in part to the actions of a Good Samaritan.
Judge Leigh Ann Stephens was attacked by a knife-wielding man while eating lunch in a Hazard diner last week.
Perry County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested Ronnie Brock and charged him with attempted murder.
He stabbed Stephens at least five times in the shoulder and arm.
Brock is in the Perry County Jail and has reportedly refused to talk to detectives.
Judge Stephens was having lunch at the Circle T Restaurant in Hazard when she says she felt Brock patting her shoulder.
"I could feel him hitting me, but I didn't know he had a knife," said Judge Leigh Ann Stephens.
Another patron in the restaurant, Victor Gainer, grabbed Brock and pushed him through a window.
He then sat on Brock to keep him there until deputies arrived.
"I just did what I had to do to save her, I would have did it for anybody," Gainer said.
In 2004, Brock was in Judge Stephens' courtroom because of a domestic case.
