Josephina Lugo's Son Speaks To News Center 23

A murder cast takes an unexpected turn as the defendant plead guilty to murder.
In District Court this afternnon, 72-year old, Mission Man, Pedro Lugo plead guilty to murdering his wife.
He accepted a plea agreement that will send him to jail for a long time.
Today, we caught up with one of the victim's children, who says, his family now has a sense of relief, knowing that the man, who killed his mother will be behind bars.
68-year old, Josephina Lugo's biological son, Manny Zepeda came to the Valley from Tennessee, to give his testimony in the Pedro Lugo trial.
Today, the prosecution, and the defense reached a plea agreement, which will put Lugo behind bars for the rest of his life.
Josephina Lugo's son, Manny says, he can finally get some peace now that his mother's killer will spend the rest of his days, in prison.
"We didn't want this trial hanging over our family for another in year."
Zepeda says, In Court, he didn't want to make eye contact with Lugo.
"He doesn't exist to me."
He says, "My mother's death is unchangeable, you can't bring that person back so what you want to do is focus your engergy on the memories, not on the person, whose responsible, that's worthless."
He's focusing on what's really important, and that's remembering his loving mom in special ways.
Zepeda is also a musician, and he says, the best way to honor his mom is through song.
"When I first heard about her death, it just came to me, "Somewhere over the rainbow", I learned it for her, and I performed it."
Josephina was also the mother to another biological son, Marco.
