Preliminary hearings are underway for the man accused of killing his father and two others charged in the same case.

John Rogers, George Sweeny, and Bryant Dwayne went before a judge on Monday for their first hearing since being officially charged with capital murder for the death of John Rogers. The state announced it does plan to seek the death penalty for all three individuals in the case.

Police believe the three worked together to shoot and kill 74 year-old John Rogers. The group took off with jewelry, credit cards and cars that belonged to Mr. Rogers. On Thursday, his son, John Rogers, will head back to the courtroom to try to seek a lower bond.
