Jewelry store employee charged with credit card abuse

Harlingen police arrested and charged a jewelry store employee with charging unauthorized purchases using one customers credit information.

On October 1st, a Rio Hondo man filed a report of credit card abuse after an employee, identified as Ruth Medina, 27, who worked at Portillo's Jewelry at Valle Vista Mall, used his credit card information, when he applied for credit at the store, to make several personal purchases.

An arrest warrant was issued for Medina and on October 18th Medina was arrested and charged with credit card abuse and issued a bond of $20,000 dollars.
