Bumbling jewelry store robbers give up after one nearly shoots partner.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking the public's assistance to locate two men wanted for the botched robbery of a Zales jewelry store.

At about 8:40 p.m. April 9, two masked men armed with a hammer and a shotgun entered Zales and attempted to remove jewelry from the glass displays.

The men fled after failing to break the cases.

Witnesses got a license plate number to a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The vehicle, a silver Honda Civic, was located on fire.

The suspects are both described as in their 20s.

One suspect was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, white pants and white tennis shoes.

The second suspect wore a long-sleeved gray shirt, dark pants and black tennis shoes with a white stripe.

CrimeStoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect.
