Popular 80s workout is seeing a revival.

Jazzercise is still kicking and skipping after all these years.

The legwarmers are gone though, as are most of the sweatbands.

"Jazzercise is a dance fitness program that provides cardiovascular conditioning, strength training," explains instructor Arlene Allen-Mitchell.

Ilene Shatkin has been a jazzerciser for about 25 years.

"Originally I started because I wanted to get in shape and it's blossomed into a lot more than that," she says.

Somewhere along the line weights were added for muscle training and strengthening, so it's not just a cardio workout.

It's still a high energy, high impact class that claims to burn up 600 calories in an hour.
