BROWNSVILLE - The fatal shooting of a 15-year-old student at Cummings Middle School has many people searching for answers, but none more so than the boy's family who says it's been an emotional and trying ordeal.

First my condolences to the family and friends of that boy. In my opinion, the guilty party is not the police, it the assistant principal that is relating inaccurate information to 911 operator. I was in the belief that BISD issues were supposed to be handled by BISD police. Why did she call Brownsville PD? Is she really fit to be in a leadership position? The 911 recording shows she is not. Where is the School Principal? What about the security officer? Why didn't he radio BISD Police?
but it wasnt smart pointing a gun at a cop...
everyone knows that
i thought cops aim for the leg or arm when trying to stop someone from shooting....and how many shots were fired?? i read that it was three shots with two officers..why does the officer need to shot twice? when his partner had already shot him
The answer is that your idiot kid pointed a gun at cops and refused numerous requests to put it down. YOU are to blame, parents. How did your kid get the pellet gun? How did he get it to school? Why did he go to school looking for a fight? Why was he 15 and in the 8th grade? These are all questions GOOD parents would be able to answer.
If you cannot grasp this concept, please kill yourselves.
Justice was not served, no one was convicted of a crime, no innocent bystanders were hurt, a kid was killed because he brought a gun to school, threatened police officers and had to be shot to protect the students, faculty and the officers involved. My prayers go to the family of the deceased as well as the officers who had to use deadly force to stop a kid who used the worst possible judgement in a bad situation. You have to wonder what was going through this kids mind?
Everyone always wants to criticize police for using deadly force in a situation where its a child. Police aren't trained to use non-lethal force against any person carrying a gun. Because even in the event that a person is wounded, he still has the capacity to pull the trigger and injure an innocent bystander, another student, a teacher or the officer himself. I would've used the same tactic the officers used to stop the boy.
To those who are lucky enough to have a friend who is a federal judge--not a statete nor county judge; ask them what is some of their biggest challenge....that cops screw up and their actions cause technicalities due to them not understanding peoples right under the constitution....just take a look at our old sherriff, and the trigger happy ones. They are easy to spot, they stop you for no probable cause. We had to do what we had to do with a big smile on his interview. What goes around comes
Narrow minded people...the situation was contained the cops could have handled it different, and to those who feel it was the parents fault it is clear that they are idiots and can not see beyond. We make mistakes, so have you, some get busted and those who dont become cops, and then they use all their training and kill. He made a mistake, sure. But children that are immature and are freaking make mistakes. if you have any education--go back to your psych class, if not i figured your stupidity
Children with guns have killed countless people in schools.
Children with guns in schools need to be dealt with like the terrorists they are.
Justice was served here.
How can they do that? to a kid omg when they have a real criminial they don't even shoot and them this omg. :( i feel so bad for the family my respects to them. the police did wrong on shoot him why they can just shoot him in the leg or any body part that was harmless.. i feel disgusted by the brownsville police they just only good for putting pepoles tickets and shooting 15 year olds.. omg next time they going to shoot youger children if they have a toy gun. And they going to say it was a real.
Real criminals point guns at cops.
Therefore, Jaime was a real criminal.
When you decide to put on a uniform, and hold the publics safety in your hands, then you can criticize the police for shooting a kid that held a gun in the middle of a crowd and pointing it at officers. The gun did not have any indicators it was a toy, it did not have an orange barrel as toys are supposed to have and if it had been a real gun and gone off after you would have shot him in the leg and killed a student you'd be resonponsible for that students life.
you people are making negative comments towards this family because its not YOUR child that was killed. I do agree with SOME of your comments but then again as parents we dont know exactly what our kids do 24/7. this was a working mother and father. I do believe the boy did no right by bringing a toy gun to school but i also believe the police could of handled this in a suitable way and not shoot the child in the head. Jaime G. RIP son
Looks like he's just a product of his environment. The parents arn't looking for justice, they're looking for Dollar $$ signs. If the real justice is to be served, then lets take the parents to court and have them explain to the rest of society, why their son decided to bring a gun to school, assault another student and then start a 1 min standoff with the police.I bet they wouldnt be standing in front of a tv camera if thier little angel had started another Columbine slaughter.
Sure they would. They'd be blaming the school for their son's failure.
As it is, they can't accept this was THEIR FAULT.
I'm sure LULAC or La Raza (our local terror organizations) will finance a lawsuit against the city and the cops. Put me on the jury and I'll make sure the PARENTS pay the taxpayers and cops' legal bills...
I would have busted him too to protect the other kids. His parents should blame themselves
if he really took it away from another student then y didnt he put the gun down? if thats what really happened...nobody should blame the police for what happened they were just doin their job..i do feel sorry for the boy and his family.the truth will come out..
Justice was served
