The East Coast is still coming to grips with the aftermath of the storm.

Floodwaters are receding and storm-weary east coast residents are assessing the damage of Hurricane Irene.

The storm is being blamed for more than 20 deaths and an estimated $7 billion in damage.

More than 5 million people are still without power.

President Obama is promising the help of the federal government, but says it will take time to recover.

Irene remained a Category 1 hurricane during much of her run.

Throughout the country airlines are struggling to resume service as airports across the northeast went back on line, but schedules were still up in the air.
