MATAMOROS, MEXICO - Twenty people are dead and a dozen are injured after the weekend violence in Matamoros prison.

The troubled had started early Saturday morning when two inmates at the Matamoros state prison and got into a fight. It quickly escalated into a prison riot and there are reports, outside of law enforcement, it was a planned execution. No confirmation on whether the violence was cartel related and the investigation continues by Mexican authorities.
