Idea Public Schools Hiring 125 Teaching Jobs

Hundreds showing up in Brownsville for a teacher recruitment event. While some schools districts maybe are worrying about budget cuts and laying off teachers Idea public schools says they are hiring.

"We are hiring 150 teachers in the next few months."

Idea public schools is a free open public enrollment school. They currently have 14,000 students on the waiting list. With that large number they plan to open new school throughout the Valley, and with no school they need more teachers. Idea has schools from Brownsville to Mission grades K-12.

Rosie Maldonado a recent University of Texas at Brownsville graduate attending the recruitment hoping to land a teacher job.

"This is a great opportunity for all the teachers since there is a scarcity in jobs as educators, this a great school to work for."
