Hundreds of students and supporters, one by one letting their voices be heard, during a comprehensive immigration reform rally at UTPA.

Samantha Magdaleno is a "Documented Dreamer", she says, "I came out here to hear what the congressman had to say about comprehensive immigration reform, because they do a lot of talk and I wanted to hear them first hand, so I know what to hold them accountable for."

During the rally congressman and congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairman Ruben Hinojosa along with other leaders were present to discuss immigration reform and it's impacts in the valley.

"We want to communicate to our region exactly what is happening in Washington in regards to the immigration reform bill."
Counselo Castillo is the mother of a dreamer student and she's concerned for her daughters future. Castillo says, "Well I have a daughter and she is a dreamer, her future is very important to me, she is a very intelligent girl."

UTPA has one of the largest population of dreamers in the nation, so this issue is hitting hard at home. Currently the Dream Act has not been passed by Congress and for hundreds of thousands of immigrants their only means for obtaining status in the U.S. is through the Deferred Action Program, which would allow them to stay in the U.S.

However, for those who rallied Tuesday, they say they are not losing hope and are anxiously awaiting for the day that the Dream Act will pass.
