With the number of human trafficking increasing in recent years the U.S. Attorney's Office's Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance held a conference in McAllen to create awareness about the issue.

Congress has given trafficking victims a protection act in which a victim helps authorities with information on human trafficking rings, they're to be given legal status in the United States. For more information click on the link
