Hot Temperatures a Concern for Immigrants Crossing Illegally

It's especially dangerous to cross the border illegally when our temperatures are so high and Border Patrol officials say walking in this heat for several hours can cause heat exhaustion and even death. It's just as dangerous staying in stash houses as Border Patrol spokesperson Rosalinda Huey states, "It's easy for them to come to heat related injuries because they have no water, electricity, obviously no air condition. Often they have to keep windows closed so the heat inside these homes can get very high."
