Upper Valley residents are coming together December 11th to place over 500 wreaths on graves of fallen heroes.
Across America people will be placing thousands of wreaths on the headstones of our nation's fallen heroes.
Over 400 Upper Valley residents will be attending the 4th Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony December 11th at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
The wreaths symbolize eternity and that our memory of these fallen heroes will never die.
Every single grave and headstone in the cemetery will be presented with a wreath.
Those organizing the event said it is a very special time to remember those that are lost, especially just before the holiday.
"We get busy year round, doing other things and we tend to forget our fallen loved ones out here. And it brings the community together," said Tony Hernandez, Texas American Legion Sergeant of Arms.
The ceremony will start promptly at 11:00 a.m., but event organizers said for people to start arriving around 10:00 a.m. to find parking.
