Homeland Security Secretary's solution to border crisis, "Go after the smuggling organizations."
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says the U.S. is making progress in processing and deporting the large numbers of illegal immigrants coming across the border.
Johnson stressed that the turnaround time to repatriate illegal immigrants has improved, in some cases by weeks, but he says additional funding is needed to keep up with the surge.
Secretary Johnson says one part of the solution is going after the smugglers who are bringing children and adults to the border stating, "We will identify more bank accounts, more flows of money, and we will continue to go after the criminal smuggling organizations. We will continue to work with the Mexican and Central American governments on their law enforcement efforts."
