Homeland Security Reports Drop in Border Arrests
Federal officials say there's been a double digit drop in the number of arrests along the U.S. border with Mexico.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Neapolitano says a 17% drop in arrest along the U.S. border with Mexico shows heightened enforcement is working. Currently there are more than 1,200 Border Patrol agents and National Guard troops stationed throughout the area. She also says the weakened American economy means fewer immigrants looking for work.
