Legislators head back home and many are hitting the camaign trail hard.


For Washington, it's time to face the music. Congress is shut down until after elections. Politicians are now coming face to face with voters, boasting about what they got done.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, "Because of that Recovery Act, 3.6 million jobs were saved or created."

Also apologizing for what they didn't…House Minority Leader John Boehner said, "Both parties share the blame for this."

Be on the lookout for more nasty TV ads as the entire House and a third of the Senate hits the campaign trail.

Political Analyst Bill Press of The Bill Press Show said, "It's gonna be the invasion of the vote snatchers."

At a White House meeting Thursday, Democrats gave the President marching orders: win back independent voters.

"On November 2nd we face another test and the stakes can't be higher," said President Obama.

He'll likely announce today that Chief Of Staff Rahm Emmanuel is jumping back into politics...headed home to run for Mayor of Chicago.

His expected replacement: Advisor Pete Rouse.

As for Congress, they passed a temporary spending bill to keep government going till after elections.

"They took care of themselves and forgot about the rest of us," said Press.

Your taxes are still up in the air, but the Senate did pass a bill banning loud TV commercials.
