An overnight home invasion in Mission left the family inside terrorized and staying elsewhere as detectives search for the group of men who committed the crime, Michelle Macias brings us more from McAllen.

The Hidalgo county sheriff's department is looking for four men, wanted for stealing jewelry and cash. The family did talk about their ordeal off camera because they were to scared to speak publicly about it. It happened while their were asleep around 11:45pm on Sunday night at a home on Wisconsin and Valverde road in Edinburg.

A woman says that the men kicked down the back door and stormed in with their faces covered and armed with guns and a machete. They dragged every family member into the front of the house and told them to lie face down onto the floor. When the victim's son-in-law did not cooperate with the order one of the suspects hit the man over the head with a gun.

They ransacked the home looking for other things to take, but after finding nothing they took off in an old model red or maroon Astro van. Officers say the van has a defective left rear break light and are asking if anyone has any information on this crime to contact the Hidalgo county CrimeStoppers line at 956.668.TIPS.
