Hidlago County to Collect Fines with Operation Clean Slate

People living in Hidalgo county need to pay about $35 million dollars in fines and fees that are owed to county Justices of the Peace over the past ten years and in order to pay it off county officials are starting Operation Clean Slate.

It's on online tool where you can search and fnd out whether or not you owe money and the site can also be used to pay off outstanding debts. The initiative will go on for 60 days allowing people to clear their name. If the money isn't paid officials can put your drivers license renewals and car registration on hold.
