Hidalgo investigators find weapon used in Weslaco bar shooting

Hidalgo County Sheriff investigators have found the weapon used in a bar shooting leaving one dead and two injured.

Homicide investigators were given consent to search a home, at 2305 Lopez Drive, in Weslaco, and found a .40 caliber Glock semi-auto handgun believed to be used in the murder of Luis Fernando Lara at the La Puerta Negra bar.

The weapon was hidden underneath a doghouse and it will be submitted for ballistic testing.

Investigators are now searching for Juan Martin Hernandez, 23, who is believed to be the person who hid the weapon and he is wanted for a Class A assault and child non-support warrant.
