HIDALGO COUNTY - As a member of law enforcement, Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino is no stranger to death threats. But two recent calls, Trevino said crossed the line. One call came in September 25th around 5:30 p.m.
The caller claimed to be Carlos Medina, a known gang member and criminal. Median threatened the family and lives of Trevino and one of his investigators.
Trevino is not taking this call lightly and is already actively searching for Medina.
"We got some very bad folks, with some very close organized crime ties and we are doing everything that we can to figure out where they are at, so we can latch on to them and bring them in and incarcerate them," said Sheriff Lupe Trevino, Hidalgo County.
But the call from Medina isn't the only call Trevino has received recently. He got one other from a man claiming to be Gustavo Lozano.
"He said we should not have initiated the investigation, and because of that he was going to kill me and members, people that are close to me. And he did this several times," said Trevino.
Phone calls like these don't go with out penalty, since they are illegal. Because Trevino is the sheriff and a public servant, these two individuals are now wanted for terroristic threat against a public servant.
If you have any information on these callers, please call Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers at 956-688-8477.
