Hidalgo County to Allow Fireworks on Fourth of July

Dry weather can usually put a damper on the Fourth of July celebrations, but officials in Hidalgo county say weather worries won't stop the fun this year.

Allowing people to pop fireworks despite a burn ban that's in effect in Hidalgo county until July 27th, otherwise law enforcement officials say anti-firework ordinances could lead to bigger fire worries. County officials are asking those who chose to celebrate with fireworks to use extra caution. A few tips, don't leave children unattended and have water handy in case of an emergency.
