Firefighters pull man from chimney after he loses his keys and tries to climb into home.

A Lubbock, Texas man is safe after being rescued from a chimney early Monday morning.

A woman made a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. saying her husband was stuck in their home's chimney.

She says they had just gotten back from the hospital, and found they had been locked out of the house.

She says her husband decided to climb down the chimney because he didn't want to break down the door or a window.

Little did he know there was no saving the door, and fire fighters broke it down to get inside the home.

They found the man near the bottom of the chimney, but the flue was too small and kept him from coming out the bottom.

Finally about an hour and a half later, fire fighters were able to pull the man up through the top of the chimney with a rope.

The only injuries were a few scratches, and maybe a little bit of a bruised ego.
