MISSION, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — If your New Year's resolution involves eating healthy and improving your diet, HEB wants to help you get on the right track.
HEB's "Start Fresh Fest" is in stores now until January 14th to help shoppers learn more about healthy products that are available. There will also be cooking demonstrations and a health focused newsletter to help people tackle their goal of eating healthier in 2014.
Marcie Perez is an HEB registered dietician and explains that in a region with a very high percentage of the population has diabetes, it is crucial to make eating healthy a priority.
"We found that we're in this unique position to really help educate and provide food to the communities in south Texas to help enrich their lives, to help make healthy decisions and to promote wellness in their lives."
And if you're interested in a little healthy competition, HEB is also offering a ten week challenge called the "Slim Down Showdown."
For more information on how to register and be eligible to win a $1,000 HEB gift card, visit their website at heb.com/slimdown.
