MISSION - H.E.B. is giving back to the community by donating more than 10,000 books and a $1,000 dollars to two Boys and Girls Club.

It's all part of H.E.B.'s Read 3 Initiative and it's about getting books into the hands of parents and children so that kids will either read or be read too at least three times a week. Not every H.E.B. is able to give out donations this large, but the Mission store on East Griffin Parkway won the right to donate books and money because they collected over 7,000 books as part of the Read 3 competition. H.E.B. handed over the money and the books will be delivered after the New Year.
