In medical news, a new survey from the American Heart Association shows how the ailing economy is affecting health care.

Overall, nearly 60% of those surveyed said their personal health care has been impacted by the economy. Nearly a third said they buy fewer fresh fruits and vegetables and about 20% said they would skip routine check-ups at the doctor or dentist in the past six months and 25% also canceled their gym memberships.

The survey included 1,000 people and was conducted in March.
