The Palmer Drug Abuse Center in Brownsville got a face lift of sort on Friday afternoon.

Around 50 volunteers including teens from the juvenile justice alternative educational program in San Benito as well as other community members helped to renovate the center. They worked on the landscaping, painting, installing a gazebo, new flooring, new doors and even putting up a mural to liven up and draw in troubled teens to the center that needed the help.

Home Depot along with several other companies helped on the project to become a reality. The Palmer Drug Abuse Center is a non-profit organization that has been in the Brownsville community since 1982. The center counts on grants and sponsors to continue helping those with drug problems in the community.
