Operation Lone Star will come to an end on Friday in Cameron and Hidalgo county.

For the past week, military personnel, state and county officials along with hundreds of volunteers have been providing free health care to thousands of people in need, here in the Rio Grande Valley. In a special ceremony at PSJA high school in San Juan, elected officials talked about possibly extending this service.

State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. wants the program extended because he says, there is a great need for medical care in the Valley. The last day of Operation Lone Star is Friday from 8am in the morning until 2pm in the afternoon.
