Nearly 4,000 people in the Valley are waiting and wishing for an organ transplant and many of those will die waiting for one. Others go through life long dialysis and treatment while on the list.

In honor of National Donate Life Month, a group of people gathered to remember those who chose to donate life. Juan Caballero spent his Wednesday morning honoring someone he'll never know someone who changed his life.

He lives a normal life now and thanks to someone who died in 2003 leaving their pancreas and kidney for someone in need. Juan now carries those organs which give him a life he cherishes. It's an opportunity that did not come in time for 31 year-old Veronica. She died waiting for a lung transplant and her sister Heernietta described it as a trying time for the family.

That's why while honoring the donors, this group is asking the public to look into organ donation and talk to loved ones about it. Veronica, died waiting for a donor then became one herself when she passed away. Eight patients received an organ from Veronica's donation.
