HARLINGEN - The head football coach of Harlingen South, Gilbert Leal, remains on suspension after being arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

The Harlingen C.I.S.D. is continuing to investigate the incident and since his arrest defensive coordinator Jim Morton has assumed the head coaching responsibilities. District Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores released a statement saying that the district will remain committed to holding employees to high standards and will continue to serve the best interest of the students and the community.
