Harlingen PD & TABC Conducting Compliance Check Operations & Minor Stings

Harlingen police say compliance checks and minor sting operations are already underway at Convenient stores, bars, and clubs in Harlingen making sure these place are not selling alcohol to minors.

"Whether it be alcohol anything that's dangerous to our children we want to be vigilante and protect them the best we can."

Police say undercover officers will try to purchase beer and other alcohol and making sure all these places are following the rules.
Jeannie Butt is from nearby San Benito and thinks these checks are good. She hopes that less minors get a hold of alcohol.

"Too many people who are drinking and smoking its gets out of hand if they are drinking and driving cause accidents teenage kids are way out of hand these days."

Police say the operations with the TABC is underway but did not release how long this would go for.
