SULLIVAN CITY - Drug seizures are really starting to add up, especially for small police departments like Sullivan City.

At the halfway mark of the year, the police department has taken in more than 7,000 pounds of narcotics.

Just today, they chased a drug smuggler through the city, taking 133 pounds of pot off the streets.

"I would say it depends on the time of day. Daytime, this amount right here it's usual. When it's night time or it's mid-day, we are looking at 900, 700, 600 pounds," Inv. Leonardo Rios, Sullivan City Police.

Sullivan City police stops most drug runners on Expressway 83, a known highway for drug transporting.

The driver busted today faces felony charges of drug possession and evading arrest.
