It's the Brownsville Police Department versus the Fire Department to see who can collect more blood donations.

It's called the Guns and Hoses Blood Drive.

Brownsville police are working with the United Blood Services. The goal for a day is to collect 30 units, 1 unit is about 16 oz.

Each department wants to win, so that everybody wins.

All the blood donated will stay right here in the Rio Grande Valley.

The public is invited to join in the competition and donate blood.
